A 43-year old woman, Deborah Hodges has 'married' her rented house in a order not to get evicted.

Deborah faces eviction from the house after

the two-bedroom property in Bexleyheath was put on the market.

She is, however, using the fake wedding to garner enough money to purchase it.

The mother of four who spoke to the Mirror said: ‘I had a ceremony. I put my dress on.

‘I don’t care – I have a method in my madness. I don’t care if people think I’m a nutter.

‘You would have to take me kicking and screaming from this house.’

Deborah launched a Crowdfunder to raise £400,000 to buy the property herself, but she has only be able to make £56 so far.

Asked about his relationship status, Deborah said: ‘I am single but I do have a man in my life.

‘Norman is a man – he’s got a man’s spirit – and he looks after us. I think houses do have spirits sometimes.'
