Proposed Nationwide Protest Against Buhari: Osinbajo Gives Go-Ahead

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday stated that the Presidency cannot prevent the February 6th nationwide protest against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari from taking place.

Speaking on Channels Television on Friday, through his Senior Special Assistant-Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo said Nigerians have the right to protest. 

He noted that right to peaceful protest is part of fundamental human rights of Nigerians.

Osinbajo said, ''Presidency is not going to stop people from expressing their fundamental human rights. People have the right to protest. Whoever they want to support or oppose is their right. Government is not in the business of countering any protest'."
