Drunk Doctor Conducts Cesarean Section, Kills Woman

A drunk doctor in a rural hospital, Masvingo General Hospital, Zimbabwe has killed a woman after allegedly performing a Cesarean section on a pregnant woman.

Doctor Henry Harry Mushuku who carried out the CS under the influence of the alcohol is in hot soup as the woman, Locardia Mbinda lost her life in the process. Mbinda's baby however, survived.

Provincial Medical Director (PMD); Dr Amadeus Shamu said Mashuku's fate is yet to be decided.

Shamu said: 

"It is unfortunate that the person chairing Mushuku’s hearings was absent last week. The hearings will however resume this week since I am informed he is back.

"We look forward to conclude the issue soon. I however can’t give many details on who is chairing the committee and procedures we take in investigating the case since they are internal processes. They are not for the press."

ZimNews reports that when the the late Mbinda was assessed by gynecologist, Julius Chirengwa, he observed that there was no possibility of her surviving the botched-operation because of the great damage that had been done to her.
