We Won't Resume Until… - LAUTECH Lecturers Vow

Lecturers at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso have insisted that they will not resume academic activities until Oyo and Osun States agree on modalities for the payment of the N7.1bn subventions they are being owed.
The University had in a release signed by it's Registrar, J.A Agboola on Monday January 23, directed staff and students to resume academic activities on Friday, January 27, 2017.
While students and management of the institution have returned to school, the lecturers have vowed to continue with the strike action which entered it's 8th month in January.

The Chairman of the institution's chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr . Biodun Olaniran, in an interview with journalists in Oshogbo on Friday said, the two states have paid N500 million into the institution's account.
According to Olaniran, the lecturers did not go on strike because of salary but because of university funding which is limiting the progress of the citadel of learning.
He stated that Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and his counterpart in Osun State, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, must commit themselves to prove that they were ready to pay the debt.
