Man Whose Head Was Cut From His Spine Marries Long Time Girlfriend

Few days before his life support was turned off, a man in England whose head was ripped from his spine in a car accident, Tony Cowan, got married to his girlfriend, Karen Dawson.

The 31-year old had an accident in 2014 with his car and was on life support since then. He however, decided to marry his girlfriend of 12 years before switching off the life machine after the pain became unbearable.

29-year old Karen said: "We got married four days before he died in hospital. It was just with family. It was amazing and it was happy and sad because we knew what was coming. He always wanted to get married but we just never got round to it."

The duo said their vows in Tony's hospital room which had been decorated by staff. Their wedding which was supposed to hold in May was brought forward because Karen's pain was worsening.
