Scores Killed As Massive Explosions, Gunfire Rock Maiduguri
Powerful bomb explosions and heavy gunfire rocked Maiduguri, the Borno state capital late Thursday evening as heavily armed Boko Haram insurgents attempted to take over the city through the newly constructed Customs House where IDPs from Mafa Local Government Area.
Sources within the city revealed that three massive explosions sounded late Thursday, sending residents into panic.
The insurgents were, however, stopped by the military officers and members of the Civilian JTF who engaged them in a serious gun battle which lasted more than an hour.
Report has it that several civilians and all Boko Haram fighters that carried out the attack were killed.
