Reps Summons CBN Governor, Emefiele [See Why]

The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele was on Monday summoned by the House of Representatives.

Emefiele was summoned by the House’s Ad hoc Committee on the Review of Pump Price of Petrol over alleged sale of foreign exchange to International Oil Companies (IOCs).

The committee had rejected the records of the foreign exchange transactions presented to it.

The CBN governor was ordered to appear with details of all beneficiaries of the foreign exchange deals as well as to give insight into the banks used by the CBN in the transaction with the oil marketers.
